Elio: I don't know, but "necator" plausibly means "killer" (from neco,
necare, to kill or murder), so perhaps the mushroom is poisonous and
thought to contain carcinogens. Mutagen might also be a mistake for
mutabile, if the morphology or color varies a lot.
