"discovery") as LSD-25 - tartaric acid salt of lysergic acid diethylamide. Observation of psychic effect due to exposure in synthesis might indicate he was a sloppy chemist - but it doesn't take much. Maybe lucky for him he wasn't synthesizing biological toxins. His inane description as "medicine for the soul" notwithstanding, Hoffman may have been correct in anticipating useful therapeutic application in psychoanalysis. It may surprise the grinning poster that he attributed this missed opportunity to prohibition secondary to the material's abuse as it was "hijacked by the 60's youth movement." -----Original Message----- From: mycology-bounces@oat.bio.indiana.edu [mailto:mycology-bounces@oat.bio.indiana.edu] On Behalf Of mycology-request@oat.bio.indiana.edu Sent: Sunday, January 13, 2008 12:04 PM To: mycology@magpie.bio.indiana.edu Subject: Mycology Digest, Vol 31, Issue 2 Send Mycology mailing list submissions to mycology@net.bio.net To subscribe or unsubscribe via the World Wide Web, visit http://www.bio.net/biomail/listinfo/mycology or, via email, send a message with subject or body 'help' to mycology-request@net.bio.net You can reach the person managing the list at mycology-owner@net.bio.net When replying, please edit your Subject line so it is more specific than "Re: Contents of Mycology digest..." I don't know what kind of facilities, equipment and funds you have for beginning your project. Be sure to purchase a copy of Stamets' books The Mushroom Cultivator and Growing Gourmet and Medicinal Mushrooms if you haven't already. These will help tremendously in the area of learning the basics. If you want more information, please be a little bit more specific about exactly what it is you would like to know and I'll try to help.
