The stomatogastric ganglion of crabs and lobsters has 30 neurons and
produces two major rhythms; about half of the cells are involved with each
rhythm, so that's probably what you're looking for.

MIT Press has an excellent book, out last year, edited by Harris-Warrick
et al, on the system.  ANd it includes chapters on modeling the system. 
The earliest papers on modeling stg date back to the 1970s so there's a
lot known about the pitfalls of modelling even a simple circuit like this one.
