We have been working for 6 years on a modelization of the cortical column as a basic unit of connectionist networks. The basic idea is to define a functional micro-circuit of neurons (cortical column) as a basic unit with specific input/output, learning and functioning rules. These rules and architecture have been defined with neurobiological consideration.
