central neuropathy in diabetes mellitus?

Hi,

can anyone answer my question if besides the peripheral neuropathies 
also central nervous system neuropathies (or other central 
neurological symptoms) can occur in patients suffering from 
diabetes mellitus ?

A review article about this topic could be a great help for me.
