C6 cells are extremely abnormal.  As transformed (i.e., tumor) cells, they
are considerably altered in growth properties, regulation of calcium, etc.
However, many people use them and you may be able to use them initially for
pilot studies.  But if you want to know something about astrocytes, USE
ASTROCYTES; they're really quite easy to establish and grow.
