Artificial Neural Nets

There are plenty of biologists seeking to emulate neuronal networks both   
in software terms and by modelling their electrical properties.  Be   
careful in your searching; look for artificial neurone research, or   
*neuronal* networks rather than *neural* networks, which is an unpleasant   
misnomer that has become rather trendy.  Neuronal networks are the things   
in your brain and they are supremely worth studying.  Good luck
