This topic has some poignancy for me, being the first
(and unsuccessful) project of my research career. I
still have some old references to the lit of the time,
and I partic recommend a review by the late JAV Bates
in J Physiol (1951) 113: 240-257, relating the 
moment of initiation of movment to phase of the EEG
alpha rhythm.
