The John P. Robarts Research Institute
                          London, Ontario, Canada

The Neurodegeneration Research Group at the Robarts Research Institute
is comprised of a multi-disciplinary team of eight researchers whose
interests are directed towards understanding the cellular mechanisms
involved in development, death, and regeneration within the nervous
system. Our view is that understanding the basic mechanisms underlying
degenerative neurological disorders will be critical to their prevention
and to the development of effective treatments.

We are seeking to hire two additional scientists whose molecular work
relates to our existing fields of expertise. Suitable areas would
include receptor mediated signal transduction, growth factors,
development, protein chemistry, and programmed cell death. Appointments
for research scientists (Ph.D. and/or M.D.) will be made on a renewable
five year basis at a competitive salary. Establishment funds will be
available for the first three years. Academic rank will be determined
by cross appointments with the appropriate department at The University
of Western Ontario. The John P. Robarts Research Institute, located on
the attractive campus setting of The University of Western Ontario in
London, Ontario, is an autonomous, modern, medical research facility
that aptly reflects the strong growth and commitment to basic and
clinical research in Southwestern Ontario.
