help!! oscillating systems (reflex loops)

MIchael - couple things:
First, re request
1) check out the chapter by Jim Houk in Mountcastle's Physioilogy textbook; I 
forget the edition, but probably most recent (which is oldish nevertheless), 
blue books - BEST introduction to control theory in physiology
2) "Understanding the Nervous System" by Deutsch and Deutsch, 1993, IEEE Press
3) go to you libray and see whats there on Biological control systems; there 
are several books ou there.

Second, I'm a little confused. This is you PHD work? If control theory 
concepts (eg gain, stability, feedback) are an important component, you need 
good local advice (given that youre a beginner in this area ) from mentor or 
others close (esp mentor). Some stuff is easy (eg gain), some can be real hard 
(eg conditions for oscillations). Anyway, if I can be more help (im a Phd in 
neuroscince, specialty motor control, with perspective of control theory) give
