Akhtumsky(sp?)

  Does anyone have a reference of any kind, but in english, about the 
Russian neuroscientist Akhtumsky (Okhtumsky? transliteral spelling 
problematic).  He was their answer to Sherrington, proposing a "final 
common pathway" for emotion, or cognition, or SOMETHING like that.  I 
need a reference somewhere to find out.
