I agree with you,but many people have little choice due to limited
access,third party insurance issues or both.I'm not sure how many
of these two specialties are needed.I think the public are being duped
into believing that specialists are less necessary and that the good
will of the family doctor will make up for any deficiencies in training.
E.g.Epilepsy can be a hard diagnosis to make and best made by a neur-
ologist but many planners and clinicians don't know" what they don't
know" and won't make an appropriate referall
Also,does anyone know what the projected
are for manpower in Neurology and Psychiatry?
