_Sedatives That Don't Interfere With REM Sleep

~Are there any sedatives available, with or without a prescription, that
don't interefere with the REM stage of sleep?  I'm looking for a
sedative that will help one fall asleep without negatively affecting the
quality of that sleep (i.e. its effectiveness in helping one feel rested
afterwards).
