I seem to recall R. Sperry once saying that the best
evidence against ESP was the split brain preparation.  If ever
there were two brains perfectly attuned to communicate with each
other, it would be the two halves of one brain.  Yet they 
remain quite ignorant of each other in the absence of
traditional neuronal pathways for communication!
