This is really bad: people are forgetting that the dumb joke about "I
forgot where they are" has already been made!
Certainly there is such a thing as amnesia outside of soap operas, but
it's nothing like what you see on the soap operas. For one thing, it
would be really unusual to have just amnesia and no other cognitive
symptoms. For another, it's usually the ability to transfer new memories
from short term to long term storage that's most affected. About the last
thing anyone would have trouble remembering is their name, like in the
soap operas.
