Does anyone know of any studies that have involved unilaterally ablating the amygdala in rats? What are the behavioral consequences of such a lesion? If the lesion were to destroy the right amygdala, and if the right eye was covered, would the animal exhibit a fear response to, say, a cat? Or would it exhibit this response regardless of which eye was covered due to the crossing over of the visual information via the corpus callosum? Thanks in advance!
