The Cambridge Brain Bank Laboratory

Senior Research Associate

 

The Cambridge Brain Bank Laboratory (CBBL) is on the Addenbrooke's
Hospital site. It consists of
a brain bank core facility and a research laboratory working on
Alzheimer's disease and related
neurodegenerative disorders. The MRC funded core facility is under the
direction of Dr J H Xuereb
(Lecturer and Consultant Neuropathologist). We are looking for an
experienced scientist to take
day-to-day responsibility for the research laboratory attached to the
CBBL. The main focus of
interest will be in mechanisms of cell death in neurodegeneration
including cytotoxicity of paired
helical filaments, glutamate receptors and excitotoxicity and apoptosis.
Applicants should have
extensive experience across the full range of molecular and cellular
methods in biology and
particularly cell culture techniques, molecular genetics, in situ
hybridisation and
immunocytochemistry.
