TWO POSTDOCTORAL POSITIONS are available immediately in the Synaptic
Mechanisms Section of the National Institute of Neurological Diseases
and Stroke intramural program. The laboratory studies ion currents and
transmitter release in vertebrate synapses with an emphasis on the
modulation of presynaptic calcium channels, the molecular basis of
transmitter release and the ultrastructure of the transmitter release
face. The fellows will address these questions using techniques that
range from patch clamp, molecular biology, biochemistry, fluorescence
microscopy to electron microscopy, and must have a strong background in
cellular neurobiology and/or electrophysiology, a collegiate attitude
and an intent to follow a research career. Visit us at
http://intra.ninds.nih.gov/sms/index.html then send a curriculum vitae,
three letters of reference, a letter indicating your interests and long
term goals to E.F. Stanley, SMS, NINDS, Bld 36, Rm 5A25, NIH, Bethesda
MD 20892. For position information and qualification requirements
contact Ms. Christine Steyer, 301-496-6334. NINDS is an equal
opportunity employer.
