Well, since we are usually told that the complete agreement
among their stories is strong evidence that it did happen,
that is what I was showing was an incorrect statement.

And, contradictory accounts don't mean the event happened
either.

Ah, but the reports say that the witches ride broomsticks,
make cows dry up, bring on disease, etc.

That is what the eyewitnesses said!  

I will pass up the obvious and not ask how many fairies the
town of Salem has.


Facts are stubborn things; and whatever may be our wishes,
our inclinations, or the dictates of our passions, they cannot
alter the state of facts and evidence.
