Thinking without language?

I'm having trouble parsing that.

I tried reading the sentence with my tongue thrust out with my index and
middle
finger pressing the tongue against my teeth.  My tongue seemed to move but
it may have been a gag reflex though I don't know why the sentence would
make me gag.
