Alzheimer's paralysis

Dear Sirs,
My father (79 yrs. old) suffers from Alzheimer's disease.
Unfortunately, a few days ago he stopped walking. Although
he can stand up, he is not able walk. Not even one step.
It seems as if commands issued by the brain don't fully
reach his legs.
My consult: What is the latest medication to treat this
kind of paralysis? Is there something else I can do?

Please, post the answer in the newsgroup and e-mail it to me as well.
Thank you.
