Hi:
This is not my working topic now. But ten or more years ago I worked
on GABA. Some GABAB receptors are coupled to Ca2+ channels directly
throug a G-protein within the membrane, inhibiting them. I do not know
if this mechanism is working at hippocampus. Check work by Annette
Dolphin.
