RESEARCH POSITION
Max-Planck-Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience
Workgroup on Signal and Image Processing
The Workgroup on Signal and Image Processing is seeking applicants
for a Post-Doctoral Research Position in the area of optical imaging
as applied to the analysis of cognitive processes in man (functional
near-infrared spectroscopy, fNIRS).
The successful applicant will be expected to participate in an
advanced research and development effort centered on the following
topics:
o measurement of higher-level brain function using fNIRS
o comparison of brain activation as revealed by fNIRS, fMRI and ERP
o setup of cross-modal physiological models of brain activation
o measurement of brain activation in stroke patients
Successful applicants should have an advanced degree in Physics,
Biology, Psychology or Medicine, and significant experience in
optical imaging. The term of the position is currently limited to
one year, with a possible extension of another year. A starting
date around June 2000 is expected. A competitive salary will be
offered, with actual salary dependent on the applicant's qualifi-
cations and experience.
