someone knows lorenzo's oil?

hi!
i've got HMSN (cmt-syndrome), type 1, where the myeline around the nerves
decrease. there's a film called lorenzo's oil, does someone know about that?
its based on a true story, there was a boy with another desease, but also
myeline was involved. hes desease stopped, or slowed down very much.
how does this oil work? ant why? what exactly is this oil?
