An increase in male homosexuality has just been reported by the
Centers for

Interesting indeed.

human fertility has been shown to change in response to environmental
changes.
A fairly recent study suggested that sperm and egg viability increases
among a population that has recently suffered a natural disater or
war.

There are many theories regarding the survival advantage conferred
upon a population with homosexual members, most suggest that having
members that do not concern themselves with reproduction are far more
productive than those who do, thusly reproductive disadvantage a
homosexual population causes is outwieghed by the positive group-level
advantages.

Since in modern society, reproduction is increasingly less valued and
necessary, perhaps there are more homosexuals because some mechanism
optimizes for cultural efficiency? after all, fatal childhood diseases
and the like are practically gone in modern societies... homosexual
individuals have a per capita income of twice the national
average...(in the US)

Im not saying this is the case, just that it's possible
