Perhaps because this wasn't a randomized prospective study.
Let alone a blinded placebo controlled one. The group whose
parents cared enough and had the resources enough to treat
them, are certainly not the same kids, socioeconomically, as
the ones that didn't get treated.

Do not infer truth from post hoc uncontrolled epidemiology.
Such studies would have you believe you need to attend
church regularly to get well.  Do you think medicare should
pay for church attendance as medical care?
