What happen to normal cells with spontaneous mutations?

Spontaneous gene mutations occur in normal cells due to the limited
accuracy of DNA replications and repairs. Are these normal cells with
gene mutations then subsequently removed by cell apoptosis?? What
happen to them? Any related literature references would be greatly
appreciated. Cheers! EdiSon
