Hi Kal, hadn't re-read my original post, but of course you are correct.
The fibres which pass through uninterrupted by thalamic relays are
indeed DEscending into the pyramidal tracts from the motor cortex. I
know you know this - just making sure it was unambiguous for the
non-anatomists who may be reading.
There sure are a lot of fibres there.
