how young your friend is? Since the recurrence rate seemed to be very
low (last episode being about 5 years ago), the necessity of long term
medical treatment may not be strongly indicated. But at this stage the
most important thing to do is to have your friend persuated to see a
physician, preferably a neurologist. The diagnosis is the most
important pont. Seizure disorder may or may not have a convulsive
component. It may be idiopathic but might also have important
underlying problem.....it all depends on further work up.
