I have a hypertext doc that I send
out, but it's an introduction to the
overall functioning of nervous sys-
tems, and treats "learning" in that
context. It's actually a guide to
folks' reading of standard Neuro-
science textbooks, depending on
the information that's contained in
them for full comprehension of
what's discussed in the hypertext

It's an old MSDOS[tm] program
that runs under Windows[tm] or
other operating systems that have
DOS or Windows emulation.

It's about 350kb in its compressed
self-extracting form.

If you can run it on your computer,
and if you want it, I'll gladly send
you a copy, gratis.

The topic of "learning" is =huge=,
and one has to approach it by,
first, coming up to speed with re-
spect to general principles. [The
stuff I'm discussing these 'days',
here in b.n, is advanced, and
written for my Colleagues in
Neuroscience and others who've
been reading the discussions I've
been posting over a span of ~15

The work inherent is Fun, though,
and the understanding gained by
doing it is useful within one's routine
experiences, so there's worth in do-
ing it.

published printed Literature, and
recommend a trip to a University

Then you might want to post spec-
ific questions that derive in that
reading. This is necessitated by the
way "learning" occurs within nervous
systems. When one "learns", one's
nervous system undergoes micro-
scopic growth that literally embodies
the stuff one "learns". So, before one
can come up to speed with respect
to a relatively-high-level topic like
"learning", one has to, first, drive
growth within one's nervous system
with respect to nervous systems'
general functional principles. Then,
having done this, one's nervous system
will have grown toward the ability to
comprehend the higher-level stuff.

It's just like the way it's necessary
to learn how to play a sport before
one can play the sport competitively.

Don't be "discouraged" by this "learn-
ing" overhead. It's Fun knowing what's
going on between one's ears :-]
