pClamp is still one of the most widespread recording software packs. If
you can use it and you have the appropriate hardware i would go for it.
Another very fine software is the one from HEKA. But (as for pClamp)
you need specific A/D boards to run this software and these boards are
quite expensive.
I know of two alternative software packs. Unfortunately i have no
experience with these but a google search will bring you to the
websites where you might find some information.
Search for (1) Win WCP or (2) jClamp. Both programs are (afaik)
suitable for intra- and extracellular recordings and don't require
specific A/D boards. A point that is very important if you are trying
to keep your costs low.
