I went over this and could not find anything that is more than a rough
estimation. Judging fronm the number of neurons in the retina to the number of
neurons in the brain seems to be al little bit oversimplified. Neurons are not
distributed homogeneously throughout the brain (white / grey matter). Moreover
the density (number of neurones per volume) may vary also.
To get a real idea on the numbers iiI would like to see a paper dealing with
sections, reconstructions and comparisons of different parts of the brain.
