Mark Siddall (mes at zoo.toronto.edu) asks: "..how many parasitologists
have been parasitized by interesting and exotic beasties, and whether
or not there are anecdotes worth telling in intro Parasitology
courses."
In 1903, Fritz Schaudinn named the organism that causes invasive
amebiasis 'Entamoeba histolytica'. In 1906 he died, of complications
resulting from self-inflicted amebiasis......
