Does anyone know the taxanomic status of the genera Myxobolus and Myxosoma (Myxosporidean parasites of fishes). Some texts (i.e. Hoffman, 1967) differentiate between these two genera on the basis of iodinophylus vacuole while other authers use the names synonomously. Randy Yoder ryoder at csd.uwm.edu
