Applications are invited for a Post-doctoral Fellow/Research Associate to
study the molecular mechanisms of immune evasion by microbial pathogens,
with particular emphasis on Trypanosoma cruzi. Relevant areas of expertise
include protein biochemistry, immunologic methods , prokaryotic and
eukaryotic molecular biology. Projects include molecular analysis of
virulence factors, molecular modeling of membrane proteins involved in
immune evasion, use of combinatorial peptide and immunoglobulin libraries
for the generation of immunotherapeutic reagents, DNA vaccines, bacterial
antigen delivery systems as vaccine vehicles, and characterization of host
responses to vaccine candidates. Candidates should possess either an M.D.
or Ph.D. in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Immunology or related
discipline. http://www.pitt.edu/~rsup/mgb/norrislab.html
