CAB International Institute of Parasitology Collections
With the closure of the International Institute of Parasitology at St
Albans, the animal helminth collections are being transferred to other
institutions. The type-collections (including the type-collections of the
London and Liverpool Schools of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine) are now in
The Natural History Museum, London (curator: Mrs E.A. Harris, Parasitic
Worms Division, Department of Zoology, The Natural History Museum, London
SW7 5BD, UK). Also transferred is the WHO Filarioid Nematode Collection.
The remainder and vast majority of the collection will be housed in the
Royal Veterinary College, Camden, London (contact: Dr L. Gibbons,
Department of Pathology and Infectious Diseases, The Royal Veterinary
College, University of London, Hawkshead Lane, North Mymms, Hatfield, Herts
AL9 7TA, UK).
