Chlorophyll program for the Mac

Hi! I am thinking about making a little freeware program for the Mac as a
design exercise, to calculate chlorophyll and plastocyanin concentrations
in cyanobacteria according to the equations of Arnon (1974).  
- Is there already a similar program?
- Are there features you would be looking for, such as determining both
Chl a/b concentrations in ethanol extracted higher plant material, that
would make this a more valuable program?  
- What would make you more likely to retain such a program on your hard
disk, instead of using your calculator?  
- Are there other pigments or chromophores for which this might be useful?
- Any ideas welcome.
