POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP IN PLANT PHYSIOLOGY
A postdoctoral position is available immediately to join a research team
working on plant physiology and molecular biology of higher plant
chloroplasts. The project involves the characterization of a chloroplast
NAD(P)H dehydrogenase complex recently found in thylakoid membrane of higher
plants (Guedeney et al. 1996 FEBS Lett. 378, 277-280).and study the
involvement of this complex in plastid respiration (Peltier et Schmidt 1991
Proc. Natl. Acad. Sci. USA 88, 4791-4795) and photosynthesis. The work will
include biochemical and immunological characterizations of the complex, and
the study of the complex activity during the differentiation of plastids
(proplastids, etioplasts, chromoplasts, chloroplasts)..
Applicant should have a Ph. D in plant physiology and/or biochemistry.
Additional experience in either molecular biology or biophysical techniques
(EPR) will be appreciated.
The position is open for 1 year, with possible extension for an additional
year.
The host laboratory is a well-equipped and multidisciplinary team (protein
purification equipment, cloning and sequencing facilities, biophysical
characterizations of photosynthetic and respiratory activities: fluorescence
measurements, gas exchange measurements, EPR,...).
CEA/Cadarache is a research center from the CEA (Commissariat =E0 l=92Energi=
e
Atomique) located in southern France (Provence) at about 50 km from Aix en
Provence, 80 km from the Mediterranean coast (Marseille) and 150 km from the
=46rench Alpes and from the ski stations.
