use of wwweb pages in teaching

One of the other teaching assistants in the General Biology course I was 
involved with this last year often used the wwweb.  At the start of each unit, 
he provided students with a list of relevant wwweb sites if they were interested
in learning more, or just exploring what was out there.  He also had some 
information set up on a home page to tell them more about him and his research, 
as well as a photo of his newborn son.  I thought it was a good way to make use 
of the increasing popularity of wwweb surfing.
