Favorite inaccurate terms

Dear Plant-edders,
  David Hershey's statement of applying monoecious and dioecious to
non-vascular plants has prompted me to add a bit of trivia to this thread. 
Although I see nothing wrong with using these terms, the bryologists use
the terms monoicous and dioicous because they apply to the gametophyte
rather than to the sporophyte and therefore are not equivalent.  While
these semantic differences may be superfluous, they are convention, for
those of you who are interested.
