Infrequent flowering

Hi!
I have a student that is interested in doing a term paper on plants that
flower very infrequently, as in perhaps dozens of years before flowering
occurs. I remember reading something about a particular plant that flowers
in this manner, but I can't recall the name. Can anyone help us out???
