Calvaria tree

Thanks to all those who replied with info about the Calvaria tree. The 
current scientific name appears to be Sideroxylon grandiflorum, formerly 
Calvaria major. Unfortunately, the interesting idea that the dodo was 
essential for its seed germination appears to be false based on 
germination of untreated seeds and existence of less than 300-year-old trees.
