Red leaves in Fall; a wild idea

If plants are producing red pigments, as opposed to the yellows, which are
already in leaves, and since red colors attract insects, i.e., pollinators,
could the plants be signalling insects to stay in that region?
As an aside, are the red leaves associated with plants having red flowers?

Just a couple of ideas "free for the taking."
