Moreover pennyroyal oil is supposed to work as a repellant and does to a
large degree in my personal experience. Some lower class mosquitos with
poor taste seem to get through it, but maybe 1 percent of what the arm
without it experiences.

We often grow pennyroyal for that prupose. Harvest the fresh leaves, cram
them in a brown jar, cover with some kind of vegetable oil (well I suppose
fish oil would work if that floats y our boat), and leave in the sun all
day. Keep in a dark place. Different batches work with different
success. I'd suggest using plants that have reached sexual maturity as
that sometimes triggers the production of anti-insect c hemicals.
