I've had a lot of good success using common woodstove ash for rebuilding
my soils mineral content. Loads of trace minerals, plus a nice addition of
some absorbent charcoal and an alkali influence (which is great for soil
with too much organic acids, like when your incorporating other wood or
leaf products or green manures.)
   Good luck!
