Polygonum hydropiper and Polygonum hydropiperoides are two different
species. An older (much older) name for Polygonum hydropiper is
Persicaria hydropiper. Gleason & Cronquist (1991) list its common name as
water-pepper, with a distribution from Quebec to B.C, s to Alabama and
California, but it is native of Europe.
