Zinnia xylem differentiation in tissue culture

I've just learned about the interesting tissue culture system for the
trans-differentiation of Zinnia mesophyll into xylem vessels.  The process
occurs in just a few days.  This seems like a potentially very useful
system for class use. Does anyone have any experience with it, particularly
in using it in courses?
