TWO TENURE-TRACK POSITIONS
BOTANY AND CELL BIOLOGY

The Department of Biology at James Madison University invites applications
for two tenure-track ASSISTANT PROFESSOR positions to begin August 1999.
We seek individuals with a strong commitment to teaching and establishing a
research program involving undergraduates and masters students.  Teaching
responsibilities for the botanist will include General Botany for majors,
and an upper-level course in plant taxonomy/systematics or
anatomy/morphology.  Teaching responsibilities for the cell biologist will
include an introductory Cell Biology course for majors and an upper level
course in their specialty, with preference given to applicants having the
ability to teach Immunology.  The candidates must show evidence of
excellent teaching and communication skills, including familiarity with
instructional technology.  A Ph.D. is required.  To apply send a CV,
