ANNOUNCEMENT OF A POSITION VACANCY
THE UNIVERSITY OF TENNESSEE AT CHATTANOOGA

Position Title:	Instructor  Biological and Environmental Sciences (full-time,
non-tenure track)

Description: Responsibilities include lectures and/or laboratories in
the introductory biology, introductory environmental science, and
introductory conservation of biodiversity courses.   Advising students and
participation in departmental matters required.

Qualifications:	M. S. or Ph. D. in Environmental or Biological Science.
Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated excellence in
college or university teaching.

Screening Date:	Begins on May 14, 1999 and will continue until the position
is filled.

Employment Date: August 1, 1999

The University:	UTC, located in an area that possesses natural beauty as
well as historical significance, serves over 8600 students annually and is
a fully accredited four-year, degree granting campus of the University of
Tennessee System.  The Biological and Environmental Sciences Department has
16 full-time faculty and over 550 majors.  The department offers  B. S.
degrees in Biology  and Environmental Science as well as an M. S. degree in
Environmental Science.
