The Living Plant by Peter Ray - What replaces it?

Greetings,
Many years ago I read through 'The Living Plant 2nd ed' by
Peter Martin Ray . It was part of the Modern Biology Series
from Holt, Rinehart and Winston. It was an excellent
introduction to basic plant physiology. However, it is no
longer in print (and since it was published in 1972 it
probably needs a bit of updating in some areas).

Is there something like it in the newer literature that I
can give to some people to introduce them to basic plant
phys?

Thanks,
Alan S. Wicks
